Two ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Students Leaders Chosen to Attend 2024 Democratic National Convention

ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Student Leaders at the DNC in Chicago 3 (Primary)

JERSEY CITY, N.J. | Two student leaders at  (ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº) — Iris Gonzales and Samantha Jaipersuad — are experiencing politics on the national stage this week with the unique opportunity to attend the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois.

Gonzales and Jaipersuad were among 15 students nationwide who were selected to report live about the event through the  program.

Gonzales, a senior from Lyndhurst, N.J. and alumna of Lyndhurst High School majoring in Political Science, was recently elected as the Student Government Association (SGA) Vice President of Internal Affairs. Additionally, she serves as an intern for ÄÛ²ÝӰԺ’s Speicher-Rubin Women's Center for Equity and Diversity and is an active member of F.E.L.A. (Federación de Estudiantes Latino Americanos).

Jaipersuad is a junior from South Plainfield, N.J. and a graduate of South Plainfield High School majoring in Philosophy with a double minor in Pre-Law and Political Science. She serves as the president of the ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Mock Trial Team. She transferred to ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº from Seton Hall.
